Walking and Cycling within the District

As we are coming into the warmer months of the year, this is the perfect time to get outdoors and enjoy nature in the district.

Throughout the district there are fantastic trails, anything from easy going low intensity levels walks, to the more adventurous peaks of Ashover Tor. You can find footpaths suitable for all ages and abilities with breathtaking views.

Here is a list of some outdoor places you can enjoy throughout and near the district Walks and Trails in NEDDC.

Derbyshire Wildlife Trust also have three sites within the district, these are havens for wildlife and will be a great place to spot animals you might not see elsewhere.

You can also make use of the apps listed below to find walking and cycling routes created by other people, or you can plan ones out yourself.

To make the most out of sunny days, you could also switch from commuting by car, to the active travel. The information above may help you find trails within the district that you could incorporate into your commute.
