NEDDC shows support for Armed Forces by re-signing Covenant

Cllr Stuart Fawcett, North East Derbyshire District Council’s Armed Forces Champion, re-signed the Armed Forces Covenant for Derbyshire at Full Council on 20 May, reinforcing the council’s commitment to the Armed Forces community.

The occasion was witnessed and attended by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire, Colonel John Wilson OBE DL and Kirstie Parker, Deputy Employer Engagement Director representing the East Midlands Reserve Forces and Cadets Association.

Cllr Fawcett said, “It is a privilege to re-sign the Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of NEDDC which pledges our ongoing commitment and support to the Armed Forces Family in the district. It also reinforces my mission to refresh the council’s offer to the Armed Forces Community, ensuring that the council’s services benefit the entire Armed Forces Family appropriately.”

“To do this, we have underpinned our renewed approach to the Covenant with a commitment to work collaboratively and cooperatively with local organisations, charities, and other public departments to ensure the very best service delivery. I would like to thank the Vice Lord-Lieutenant and Kirstie Parker for their attendance and continued support.”
