Inclusive Communities

UK Shared Prosperity

As previously reported, North East Derbyshire District Council has been awarded £2.5 million UK Shared Prosperity Funding to spend on initiatives to improve the District’s parks, play areas, shop fronts, tourism offer and business support amongst other improvements over the coming years. The Council is currently delivering initiatives across the District that meet the UKSPF programme investment priorities of Communities and Place, Local Business and People and Skills. An element of this delivery is to target funding for communities through grant support schemes.

Last year the Council launched the first round of the Inclusive Communities Scheme which aimed to help residents improve access to services by supporting voluntary-led community activity. The first round of grants were awarded to help residents access specialist energy advice and free digital training as well as initiatives to help reduce social isolation and build sustainable communities.

The Council, is now pleased to launch a second round of the Inclusive Communities Scheme.

Inclusive Communities

An allocation of £28,962 has been ring-fenced for this round of Inclusive Communities. The key objectives are to support voluntary and community sector led activity across the District with a focus on economic sustainability for households. This can be through advice, guidance, training and facilitation on issues such as household finances and access to entitlements. We recognise the synergy with the current cost of living challenges and see this as an opportunity to utilise the Inclusive Communities funding to support households and communities and the proposal should include a response to those challenges.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 14th February 2024 but to ensure programme delivery we reserve the right to amend deadlines at any time. Projects must be completed by 31st March 2025.
